Railways Issue Nationwide Alert Over AI-Generated Fake Train TicketsA serious case of creating fake railway tickets using Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come to light. A Head Ticket Checker (TC) on the Jaipur route apprehended some students who were attempting to travel by showing tickets on their mobile phones. An investigation revealed that these tickets were generated with the help of an AI tool. The students had created these fake tickets themselves, but the railways suspect that ticket touts might also start using such technology in the future. Alert Issued in All Divisions, Including Jhansi Following the incident, the railways have issued an alert in all divisions of MP, including Jhansi. All TTEs and TCs have been instructed to download the TTE app on their mobile phones and tablets.
IPL 2026 mini-auction: Big money, bold calls and surprise steals defined the Abu Dhabi show, where all 10 teams finalised their squads after a series of fierce bidding wars on December 16. While some franchises splurged on marquee names, uncapped Indian players were also among the biggest winners as teams looked to strengthen their core. Here's how all 10 squads shaped up after an intense eight-hour auction marathon.

A total of 77 players were handed fresh Indian Premier League (IPL) contracts on Tuesday, with the 10 franchises spending a combined Rs 215.15 crore at the mini-auction in Abu Dhabi. In essence, it was an afternoon dominated by Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings, who arrived with purses of Rs 64.30 crore and Rs 43.40 crore respectively and ended up shaking the room. Five of the six biggest buys of the auction came from their tables, reflecting a bold mix of overseas names yet to prove long-term consistency and uncapped Indian players seen as high-risk, high-reward bets.

Kolkata Knight Riders splurged a record Rs 25.20 crore to secure Australian all-rounder Cameron Green and followed it up with Rs 18 crore for Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana. Chennai Super Kings, meanwhile, took a route rarely associated with the franchise. After finishing rock bottom last season and starting their rebuild early, they made history at the IPL 2026 auction by snapping up uncapped players Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma for Rs 14.20 crore each, making them the joint most expensive uncapped players in IPL history. The twin signings underlined a clear shift in approach, aimed at replacing lost skills while investing in a long-term Indian core.

https://www.indiatoday.in/sports/cricket/story/ipl-2026-auction-full-squads-report-card-rating-predicted-line-up-2836998-2025-12-17

India will look to clinch the T20I series against South Africa in the fourth match in Lucknow on December 17. The spotlight will be once again on Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav's form as the team prepares for the T20 World Cup 2026 on home soil.

Having made a comeback in the series with an emphatic win in the third T20I, India will aim to seal the five-match rubber against South Africa in the fourth fixture on Wednesday, December 17, at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. India produced the perfect response after being outplayed in the second match, as their bowlers came to the fore to bundle out the Proteas for just 117.

In the batting department, Abhishek Sharma once again began in his usual attacking style and set up the chase for the hosts, who reached the modest target in just 15.5 overs. While India’s bowling returned to its best despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel, concerns remain over the batting form of Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill.

The captain and vice-captain once again failed to make an impact, being dismissed for 12 and 28 respectively. With only seven matches remaining in the build-up to the T20 World Cup, scrutiny over their form has intensified as India prepare to defend their title on home soil.

https://www.indiatoday.in/sports/cricket/story/ind-vs-sa-4th-t20i-preview-lucknow-suryakumar-yadav-shubman-gill-jasprit-bumrah-2837031-2025-12-17

According to hospital sources, the patient was admitted due to severe anaemia and was undergoing blood transfusion when a unit of an incompatible blood group was allegedly transfused

A 75-year-old woman patient was allegedly given the wrong blood group at the Acharya Tulsi cancer wing of PBM Hospital in Rajasthan's Bikaner, causing her condition to deteriorate suddenly. The hospital administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

The patient's condition stabilised after emergency treatment, doctors said.

According to hospital sources, the patient, Bhawani Devi, was admitted due to severe anaemia and was undergoing blood transfusion on Wednesday (December 17, 2025) evening when a unit of an incompatible blood group was allegedly transfused.

Also Read | Patients welcome introduction of the National Blood Transfusion Bill, 2025

Family members said the first unit of blood was transfused to Bhawani Devi, whose blood group is A positive, without incident. But a second unit of B positive blood was allegedly supplied by the blood bank, which was transfused without proper cross-checking by the nursing staff present in the cancer wing.

The error came to light when a relative noticed the blood group written on the unit during transfusion and immediately alerted the nursing staff and doctors. The transfusion was stopped and emergency treatment was initiated, following which the patient's condition stabilised, they said.

https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/rajasthan/wrong-blood-transfusion-at-bikaner-hospital-prompts-inquiry/article70410189.ece

Jaipur Airport Launches AI-Based Lost and Found System, a First in India

Jaipur Airport has introduced an automated AI-based system to help passengers easily find lost or left-behind luggage. The airport is the first in India to launch a fully automated ‘Lost and Found’ service.

First airport in India with this facility

Jaipur International Airport Limited (JIAL) has officially launched the AI-powered ‘Lost and Found’ system. The announcement was made on Tuesday. With this step, Jaipur Airport has become the first airport in the country to use such advanced technology for lost baggage recovery. Using this technology, more than 85 per cent of lost items have been safely returned to their rightful owners over the past three months. The official rollout of the fully automated system was announced today.

How the AI system works

The system uses AI-enabled cameras installed across the airport. When an unattended item is found, the camera captures its image. Details such as the item’s description, location, date, and time are automatically recorded in the system.

Passengers can track items online

Passengers can check the status of their lost luggage from anywhere. The service is available through the Adani One app and the airport’s official website. This makes the process quick and hassle-free.

https://www.bhaskarenglish.in/local/rajasthan/news/jaipur-airport-launches-ai-based-lost-and-found-system-85-missing-items-returned-in-3-months-during-trial-run-136693970.html
