Jaipur Airport has introduced an automated AI-based system to help passengers easily find lost or left-behind luggage. The airport is the first in India to launch a fully automated ‘Lost and Found’ service.
First airport in India with this facility
Jaipur International Airport Limited (JIAL) has officially launched the AI-powered ‘Lost and Found’ system. The announcement was made on Tuesday. With this step, Jaipur Airport has become the first airport in the country to use such advanced technology for lost baggage recovery. Using this technology, more than 85 per cent of lost items have been safely returned to their rightful owners over the past three months. The official rollout of the fully automated system was announced today.
How the AI system works
The system uses AI-enabled cameras installed across the airport. When an unattended item is found, the camera captures its image. Details such as the item’s description, location, date, and time are automatically recorded in the system.
Passengers can track items online
Passengers can check the status of their lost luggage from anywhere. The service is available through the Adani One app and the airport’s official website. This makes the process quick and hassle-free.
