Meet Google Disco: AI Browser That Turns Prompts Into Custom Apps

Google has launched Disco, a Gemini 3-powered experimental browser that turns prompts into custom mini-apps using a feature called GenTabs.

This year, we saw tech giants like Google, OpenAI, Perplexity, and others launch AI-powered browsers or integrate their chatbots into existing ones. But in a surprising turn of events, the Chrome team at Google unveiled a new Gemini 3-powered browser called Disco, which it says is “designed to reimagine browsing and building for the modern web.”

Unlike traditional browsers, which let you browse the internet, Google Disco uses GenTabs, a tool that takes a query or prompt as input, opens tabs related to it, and creates a custom app for whatever you are trying to do. For example, if you ask Disco for travel tips, it will automatically build a planner app.
