ACME Solar Secures ₹47.2 Billion Financing for Renewable Energy Projects

Indian renewable energy developer ACME Solar Holdings Limited has secured a ₹47.2 billion (approximately $519 million) financing package from major financial institutions in India — a significant milestone for clean power expansion and energy transition in the region. This funding round will support multiple large-scale renewable projects, including a 300 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project that combines solar power with four hours of battery energy storage, ensuring both clean generation and grid stability. The investment also includes Rs 8 billion for a fully integrated 150 MW solar plus energy storage system, enhancing reliability and flexibility for grid operators. Mercomindia.com

Part of the financing comes from the Power Finance Corporation (₹27.1 billion), with additional contributions from the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure Development (₹8 billion) and Yes Bank (₹12.09 billion), which will also be used to refinance existing solar projects — lowering financing costs and strengthening the company’s capital structure. ACME Solar already commands a renewable portfolio of over 7,500 MW, including operational and under-construction assets across India. By lowering debt costs and unlocking long-term funding, this financial closure supports India’s broader clean energy goals, especially as the country aims to scale renewable capacity and integrate more storage solutions for a resilient, low-carbon power system.
